Chess Pieces
Each chess is carved by hand, so that no two pieces are exactly alike, with deliberate attention paid to creating individuality for each of the pawns. The wood is used in the chess pieces is always matched to those used for the boards. Each Piece is weighted and cushioned.
King size varies slightly depending on the type of wood, as follows:
a. Black Walnut and white oak: 5 1/2"
b. Mahogany and maple: 6 1/2 "
c. Rosewood and cherry: 7 1/2"
d. Walnut and cherry: 7"
e. Mahogany and maple: 8"

Chessboards
To give each chessboard its own unique design, each square is inlaid with the wood used in the chess pieces and the boards. This time-consuming process requires that each square is crafted individually, surrounding the squares with inlays, as well as inserting the alternating pieces at the corners. the entire process takes approximately three months.
General sizing specifications are as follows:
a. Each board is approximately 22" X 22".
b. Each 2" square is separated with matching inlays.
c. All boards are raised 2 1/2"
e. All boards are finished with six coat of tung oil.
